Châteauneuf de Grasse is an ancient hilltop village dating from the Middle Ages which has remained faithful to the agricultural and horticultural tradition which gave its reputation today. The village is also known for its ceramics, pottery and sculptures and is registered in the inventory of historic sites of the region. Located 420 m above sea level, the village is built on a lush hillside peppered with hundred-year-old olive trees and overlooks the Opio plain. The village offers a magnificent panorama from the Italian Alps in the East to the Estérel mountains in the West. Châteauneuf has retained the both the Provençal and the agricultural tradition. Its olive groves and its plateau of a thousand truffle oaks, offer both artisanal and commercial activities, all around the area.
